I've always been interested in politics. I was a strange duck in my family as we never talked politics. I know that my parents are conservatives but they never brought it up. They would respond if I started the conversation, but they didn't school me in the political conniving of our current system. Maybe that was for my benefit. I learned that my parents were conservative through their actions. They never looked to the government, even local government to solve their problems. They taught me how to work and rely on the strength of my own two hands. But more importantly, they taught me to trust in God. This above all else has shaped my political thinking.

Following God means that you choose the right in all aspects of your life. There is never a time when political expediency can outweigh making right choices for our nation. Is it really naive to see things that way? I'm not ignorant of the rampant corruption in our government and truthfully all governments. I just choose not to participate. I refuse to agree that the way we are doing things now is the correct way or the only way.

I know that there are a lot of people in our nation who can see the destruction of their freedom but feel that they are powerless to stop it.

We must not sit idly by as our freedoms are siphoned off through a constant expansion of regulation and bills with thousands of pages. Besides voting for people who will represent conservative ideals and original intent, we must be involved. We have been seeing the average American waking up and challenging the ruling class. Tea Parties, Glenn Beck's 8/28 Restoring Honor Rally (I was there), political primaries leading to the 2010 midterm elections have all been signs. Freedom Works and the 9/12 Project are two good groups that you can join and take part in to take America back. You can also check out Wall Builders that was put together by David Barton, a great historian to find out a lot of our lost history.

You can watch all of Glenn's shows from 2010 I really enjoy watching Glenn Beck's TV show. He spends so much time researching things and then presents them in an entertaining format. He's also presented a lot of historical information that I never learned in school. I've done a lot of reading (still have more to do) and it's really amazing what has been lost to us. Made more amazing becuase we are supposed to be the freest society on the face of the earth. How is it possible that we could not know the truth of what happened in our nation 50, 100, or 150 years ago? How is it possible that a free people would allow the wool to be so thuroughly pulled over their eyes? The answer is complacency. We are so well off and have enjoyed peace for so long that we've gotten fat (some literally) on complacency. So it's time to wake up and get active. There's so much info out there that it's easy to get swamped.

Talk radio is king becuase of Rush Limbaugh's websiteRush Limbaugh. He's been followed by Glenn Beck's websiteGlenn Beck, of course and others (Sean Hannitey, Mark Levin, et al.). The best part of our electronic age is that you can listen to their shows online even if you can't listen to them in your local market. I was frustrated for a number of years becuase I was living in areas that didn't carry their shows. Then I found RadioTime. It doesn't matter if you're in an area that doesn't carry the show or if you're deep underground where you can't get radio signals. You can still be a faithful listener. Rush and Glenn also both have premium memberships on their websites that allow you to listen to their show at any time of the day.
